Critical Care Explorations (CCE) is the official open access journal of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
Editor-in-Chief: Timothy G. Buchman, PhD, MD, MCCM
CCE is the official open access, peer-review journal of the SCCM. Designed to complement SCCM’s flagship journals Critical Care Medicine (CCM) and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM), CCE provides additional articles and information that encompass the broad scope of critical care, including traditional article types and case reports as well as time-sensitive information about quality and safety, methodological and technical advances, healthcare economics, advances in predictive modelling, and the impact of new studies on evidence-based practice. This rapid communication journal is a forum for innovation and new information with the potential to influence the practice of critical care and impact research in the field.
Led by Editor-in-Chief, Timothy G. Buchman, PhD, MD, MCCM, from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, the international editorial board selects articles that provide novel insights and relevant findings emerging at the bedside and at the bench. As with SCCM’s other journals, CCE articles undergo rigorous peer-review prior to online publication and are held to high scientific and editorial standards.
Access to articles as well as supplemental digital content, including videos, is free. As a fully open access journal, CCE’s content is available all the time and is truly global, offering greater opportunities for exploring international perspectives on issues related to critical care. Manuscripts can be submitted through Editorial Manager, which contains Author Instructions along with the forms needed to submit a manuscript.
