What is the format of the examination? The MCCKAP examination is a four-hour, timed, multiple-choice examination with accompanying graphics. One untimed break is allowed during the examination. The examination is given in English. Will special hardware or software be needed for the examination? The examination requires a reliable, high-speed internet connection. Review the system requirements tab for details. Once the examination is purchased, how is it accessed? About one week before examination week begins, the examination administrator will an receive an email with a link to instructions on how to access the SCCM Online Learning Director Portal from his/her mysccm.org web page. These instructions will include how to enroll fellows. Please note that all examination information will be sent to the email address provided when ordering the examination. How are fellows enrolled in the examination? Once the examination administrator successfully logs in to mysccm.org, he/she will be directed to the SCCM Online Learning Director Portal. On this web page, each fellow’s name and corresponding email address must be entered. From this web page, the examination administrator can send each fellow an email containing the login information for the examination. Examination dates and times are set at the discretion of administrators and are scheduled outside of the examination link. Fellows within a program do not need to take the examination simultaneously. How is the examination administered? All examinations should be administered in a proctored environment, a setting that will best prepare participants for the subspecialty board examination. Proctoring will be left to the discretion of the program director. In the event that a remote, virtual administration of the examination is desired, proctors will be expected to remind their students that the honor system is in effect. Will technical assistance be available during examination week? Yes. Technical assistance will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, during the examination timeframe. The phone number and email address of technical support personnel will be sent to examination administrators. How will I receive results? Examination administrators can track fellows’ progress throughout the examination from the SCCM Online Learning Director Portal accessed through their MySCCM web page. This web page will also display the preliminary and final results as they become available. Preliminary reports can be accessed immediately after fellows' examination completion. These results may be printed or downloaded by the fellow. Final results will be available approximately five weeks after examination week. What information is included in the preliminary reports? Preliminary reports include a comprehensive score, as well as scores by knowledge area or category. These results are considered preliminary until the key is validated by the MCCKAP Committee, which will occur shortly after the examination closes. Key validation is an important step, ensuring that items with questionable performance statistics are reviewed before final scores are calculated. Generally, few items are affected by key validation so preliminary results should closely approximate final results. What are the examination start and end dates and times? The 2022 MCCKAP examination will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. Central Time on March 8, 2022, until 11:59 p.m. Central Time on March 15, 2022. If a conflict prohibits taking the examination during this period, contact SCCM Customer Service at +1 847 827-6888 to discuss your needs.
