Some think of this mantra of "others before me" as a badge of honor, according to James C. Jackson, PhD, PsyD, research professor and assistant director of the ICU Recovery Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Jackson has a strong message to these clinicians: Now is not the time to dismiss your own needs.
