The Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) course provides healthcare professionals, including nonintensivists, with the training to manage critically ill patients for the first 24 hours or until appropriate critical care consultation can be arranged. The course concentrates on adult critical care but also includes separate sections on critical care pregnancy and pediatrics.
Self-Directed FCCS provide a relaxed learning experience with access to online, interactive didactic sessions, pre- and posttests, and complementary textbook. The textbook is also available for individual purchase.

Self-Directed Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) provides a relaxed learning experience with access to the same didactic sessions found in the live version of the 6th Edition FCCS course. Learn at your own pace from the comfort and convenience of your home or office and then assess your knowledge through the use of pre- and posttests.

Physicians, nurses, and pharmacists are eligible to receive 6.5 hours of continuing education credit. Respiratory therapists are eligible to receive 6 hours of continuing education credit. Self-Directed FCCS includes 16 interactive learning modules and the FCCS eBook textbook (English), which is an excellent desktop reference.

This version of the FCCS course does not include the skill stations or an FCCS provider certificate.
