Increase your ultrasound diagnostic skills and scanning proficiency with the Critical Care Ultrasound: Pediatric and Neonatal course. Earn up to 17.5 accredited continuing education (ACE) credits and maintenance of certification (MOC) points. On completion, participants will be able to immediately integrate their learned skills into clinical practice.

The course includes:

Topics covered include the latest pediatric and neonatal strategies in ultrasound image interpretation and diagnostic challenges including qualitative assessment of left ventricular function, focused assessment with sonography in trauma (FAST) and focused assessment for free fluid (FAFF) examinations, and much more.

After studying the text and viewing the presentations online, attend an eight-hour interactive skills training session offered four times annually at various locations for your convenience. This full-day session is led by subject matter experts and uses live models to provide the realistic training needed to perform and interpret pediatric and neonatal ultrasound imaging. Significant interactive experience is ensured with a low attendee-to-faculty ratio.

Target Audience
This continuing education activity is intended to meet the needs of intensivists, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, emergency physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and all other professionals who care for patients in any setting in which critical care is provided.

Type of Activity 
This live workshop will focus on applying knowledge and practicing skills and techniques of ultrasound in the intensive care unit.

Credit Hours

Physicians: Accreditation Statement: The Society of Critical Care Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

Designation Statement: The Society of Critical Care Medicine designates the live educational activity, Critical Care Ultrasound: Adult, for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. 

Nurses: The Critical Care Ultrasound: Adult activity has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider No. 8181, for up to 19 contact hours. 

Physician Assistants: The American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 19 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Maintenance of Certification 
Successful completion of this continuing medical education (CME) activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 19 medical knowledge maintenance of certification (MOC) points in the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Anesthesia, and American Board of Surgery MOC programs. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the number of CME credits claimed for the activity. This course meets the requirements for MOC for up to 19 credits.
