Increase your ultrasound diagnostic skills and scanning proficiency with the Critical Care Ultrasound: Adult smart course. Earn up to 17.5 hours of CE/accredited continuing education (ACE). Maintenance of certification (MOC) points are also available. On completion, participants will be able to immediately integrate their learned skills into clinical practice.

Topics include cardiac output, left/right ventricular function, focused assessed transthoracic echocardiography (FATE) examination, vascular ultrasound, and much more.

After studying the text and viewing the presentations online, attend an eight-hour hands-on skill training session offered four times annually at various locations for your convenience. This full-day hands-on session is led by expert faculty and uses live models to provide the realistic training needed to perform and interpret ultrasound imaging. Significant hands-on experience is ensured with a low faculty-to-attendee ratio.

The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) follows the guidance provided by the CDC and local authorities. Given these guidelines, to attend a live (in-person) SCCM event, all attendees are required to be fully vaccinated.

Target Audience

Physicians: Accreditation Statement: The Society of Critical Care Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

Designation Statement: The Society of Critical Care Medicine designates the live educational activity, Critical Care Ultrasound: Adult, for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. 

Nurses: The Critical Care Ultrasound: Adult activity has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider No. 8181, for up to 19 contact hours. 

Physician Assistants: The American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 19 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Maintenance of Certification 
Successful completion of this continuing medical education (CME) activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 19 medical knowledge maintenance of certification (MOC) points in the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Anesthesia, and American Board of Surgery MOC programs.
