Michael S. Weinstein, MD, FACS, FCCM, speaks with C. Terri Hough, MD, MSc, about the article, “Development and Validation of a Mortality Prediction Model for Patients Receiving 14 Days of Mechanical Ventilation,” published in Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Hough works as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She also serves as Medical Director of the Harborview Medical ICU in Seattle, Washington. In this article, Dr. Hough and coauthors seek to develop and validate a mortality prediction model for patients earlier in the ICU course using data from day 14 of mechanical ventilation.
