Weinstein, MD, FACS, FCCP, speaks with Marc Moss, MD, lead author of an article published in the September Critical Care Medicine, “Surrogate and Patient Discrepancy Regarding Consent for Critical Care Research.” The article highlights differences between critically ill patients and their surrogate decision makers regarding their willingness to participate in critical care research studies. Moss is the Roger S. Mitchell Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver in Aurora, Colorado.
