As an international leader in critical care, SCCM collaborates with many quality and patient safety organizations to help realize the vision of Right Care, Right NowTM.

American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Healthy Work Environment

The AACN works with other organizations in coalition, lending their voice to advance healthy work environments, palliative and end-of-life care, and staffing and workforce development. SCCM joined the quality care collaborative aimed at promoting AACN guidelines for healthy work environments.

Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation
The Gordon and Betty Irene Moore Foundation has provided financial support and funding for the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC). This support has allowed co-founders SCCM and the European Society of Critical Care Medicine to revise the clinical guidelines, as well as the relaunch of the SSC website, database revisions, and the creation of a statistical analysis that will continue to inform the work of clinicians around the world.

Healthcare Infection Control Advisory Practice Committee
HICPAC is a federal advisory committee assembled to advise and guide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services regarding surveillance, prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial resistance, and related events in the U.S. The Society has a member liaison who participates in the work of the committee, including guidelines development and revision along with matters of importance related to all patients, including the critically ill and injured.

National Quality Forum
NQF aims to improve the quality of U.S. healthcare by building consensus on national priorities and goals for performance improvement and working in partnership to achieve them, endorsing national consensus standards for measuring and publicly reporting on performance, and promoting the attainment of national goals through education and outreach programs. SCCM is a member of the NQF with a liaison who provides feedback to SCCM leadership and the Quality and Safety Committee with related information and action steps. ​
