Avian Flu Talk
Avian Flu Talk has organized the largest and most active bird flu discussion forum in the world. People from around the world are joining the forum to share global flu news and discuss ways to fight the imminent super flu pandemic.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The CDC's website contains detailed information related to both biological and chemical threats, including Smallpox, Plagues, Anthrax, Ricin, and Radiological emergencies. Also available is CDC contact information for healthcare professionals to report biological or chemical exposure or suspected bioterrorism incidents.

WADEM
The World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) has an international focus and offers a journal, an annual conference, and other educational materials.

American Medical Association Disaster Preparedness & Medical Response
This website provides resources related to terrorism, including current news stories, AMA publications, and resources for healthcare providers. In addition, some links to federal government sites are available.

Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology
APIC's site provides links to bioterrorism resources that includes detailed information about specific agents, preparation for incidents of terrorism, and links to educational sources related to bioterrorism. Also included is information related to vaccinations.

American College of Physicians
ACP's website provides a list of bioterrorism information, including diagnosis, treatment, and vaccinations. Also included is information related to the psychological aspects of terrorism.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
Emergency/Terrorism Response was intended for Missouri residents but contains valuable information for non-residents as well. This site has information for both healthcare professionals and the general public.

Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity
SCCM is a member of COCA and can be found under the member section on their website. Their web site contains many resources for COCA members, including conference call dates and updates, listing of all members, training updates, and many other items. 

Disaster Planning and Recovery Tips 

Fundamentals of Disaster Management (FDM)
Is your organization prepared to appropriately triage and begin treatment for hundreds of incoming victims following a man-made or natural disaster? Building on its core training program for training professionals in basic critical care skills, SCCM has developed and standardized a new, one-day course module that will equip professionals with the expertise to manage large-scale disasters.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
FEMA provides a guide on disaster survival techniques and disaster-specific information and tips for preparation and response to both natural and man-made disasters.

The Medical Reserve Corps
MRC's site coordinates volunteer healthcare professionals for emergency situations on a community level. Both practicing and retired healthcare workers are eligible to volunteer.

Along with other disaster preparedness information for businesses and residents, this website answers such questions as How quickly can a company get back to business after a terrorist attack, tornado, fire or flood?

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The CDC implemented a new system for providing travelers with guidance about potential health hazards and the steps they can take to protect themselves when traveling abroad. The new system makes it easier for the public to understand what their risks may be during an emerging public health crisis and what they can do to protect themselves.

The Red Cross provides information for the general public regarding preparedness for disasters, as well as terrorist attacks. Volunteer information can be found under the "Help Now" menu to the left of the Red Cross "Disaster Services" Web page.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services
The HHS site includes information relating to Federal health, medical, and health-related social services and recovery to major emergencies and Federally declared disasters, including Natural Disasters, Technological Disasters, Major Transportation Accidents, and Terrorism.

Smallpox Vaccine Storage and Handling Web Course
The purpose of the Smallpox Vaccine Storage & Handling web course is to ensure that healthcare providers properly store, handle, and ship the smallpox vaccine. By maintaining the cold chain, providers can be confident the vaccine retains its potency and the expense of wasted vaccine caused by improper storage and handling practices is reduced. International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's largest humanitarian organization. It provides assistance to almost every country in the world.
