The Nursing Section of the Society of Critical Care Medicine is composed of nurses from diverse clinical, administrative, educational, and research roles in the field of critical care. The Nursing Section exists to further the education and promote the interest of Society members who have special interest and maintain activity as nurses in critical care. Representation in the SCCM Nursing Section affords nurses a forum to discuss specialty-specific issues and to affect change on a more personal level. Membership within the Nursing Section also gives you a voice within the Society to influence the direction and decision-making of SCCM.
The Annual Business Meeting of the Nursing Section is held during the SCCM annual Critical Care Congress. This meeting is driven by an agenda that is formulated by concerns and ideas of nurse members. Elections are held at this meeting and members vote for elected officers.
