Asmund S. Laerdal Memorial Lecture Award
This award commemorates Asmund S. Laerdal, creator of the Resusci-Annie model used in CPR training procedures. The recipient is chosen from faculty of SCCM's Critical Care Congress for his or her extensive involvement in critical care research and publishing. The recipient receives $5,000 plus a crystal. The American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) Distinguished Investigator Award
This award recognizes an established and active SCCM clinical investigator for meritorious and pioneering clinical research in critical care who has significantly contributed to the understanding of disease or treatment of patients. The recipient receives complimentary registration and reimbursement on air and hotel expenses to attend the SCCM Congress in an amount not to exceed $1500.00. Barry A. Shapiro Memorial Award for Excellence in Critical Care Management
This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the design and/or implementation of evidence-based practice which has significantly impacted clinical, operational, or fiscal outcomes within their area of responsibility. The recipient receives an honorarium of $500, a plaque and complimentary SCCM Congress registration. Nominations must be submitted by September 1, 2010. Distinguished Service Award
This award recognizes SCCM members who have made exceptional leadership contributions that have furthered the vision and mission of SCCM over a period of time. The recipient receives a plaque. Dr. Joseph and Rae Brown Award
This award recognizes an SCCM member who has significantly advanced multiprofessional quality care for critically ill and injured patients at the regional or local level. The award was established to honor the Browns for their work in organizing and sustaining the Pennsylvania Society of Critical Care Medicine (PASCCM), which later became the Pennsylvania Chapter of SCCM. The recipient receives $500 plus a plaque. Nominations must be submitted by September 1, 2010. Family-Centered Care Award
This award is sponsored by SCCM, the Family-Centered Care Award recognizes innovation that improves the care provided to critically ill and injured patients and their families. The award is provided to one unit/program and offers complimentary registration to SCCM's Congress for one team member of the unit/program and a commemorative plaque for the team. Up to two honorable mentions will also receive a plaque. Deadline for application is September 1, 2010. Grenvik Family Award for Ethics

ICU Design Citation
This award honors a critical care unit, which combines functional ICU design with the humanitarian delivery of critical care. The nominee must have substantially furthered the expert and appropriate use of life-support interventions. The recipient receives $500 and a medallion. Annual Scientific award recognizes the top 10 abstracts submitted based on outstanding research at the SCCM Congress. SCCM membership is not required for eligibility.

RESEARCH CITATIONS
30 Finalists will be selected and the top five Citations (announced on site) will receive Future Complimentary registration at the 2010 Critical Care Congress. In order to qualify for award consideration, abstracts MUST be accepted for presentation at the Critical Care Congress. Research Citations will be selected from the top 20 percent of accepted Congress abstracts. Finalists will be notified of their status and will participate in an on-site judging of their poster at the Congress and (five) winners will be announced during the Poster Hall Awards Ceremony.

THE IN-TRAINING AWARD
Applicant must be in a critical care training program or have ended training not more than one (1) year prior to the Congress. Apply for this award through abstract submission when completing your abstract. Applicants must also have a Director submit a letter detailing your training status, the dates of their fellowship/training by September 5, 2010 to congress@sccm.org.
THE YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
Applicant must have completed a training program at least 18 months but not more than six (6) years prior to the Congress. Apply for this award through abstract submission when completing your abstract. Please have your Director submit at letter a letter detailing your status by September 5, 2010 to congress@sccm.org.
