Fostered by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology (CPP) Section exists to further the education and promote the interest of Society members who have special interest and maintain activity in clinical pharmacy and pharmacology. The section informs and advises the Society on matters pertaining to clinical pharmacy and pharmacology and the practice of multiprofessional critical care, and works to foster the interest of pharmacists and clinical pharmacologists in critical care. In addition, the section encourages and supports research practices and teachings in clinical pharmacy and pharmacology as they relate to critical care.

Section Activities

Mentor and Mentee Program
This program, maintained by the Membership Committee of the CPP Section, is open to all members of the section. The program seeks to provide critical care pharmacists with guidance in their professional growth through interactions that foster excellence in clinical practice, research, teaching, and SCCM/CPP involvement.

Visiting Clinical Professor (VCP) Program
This program, maintained by the Program Committee of the CPP Section, is open to all members of the section. Current members may apply on behalf of their medical center or university. The VCP Program seeks to advance critical care pharmacy practice and teaching.

Research Assistance
A number of programs geared towards facilitating and/or assisting with research projects are provided through the Research Committee of the CPP Section. One such service provides peer pre-review for CPP members' manuscripts prior to journal submission.

Journal Club
This program, maintained by the Education Committee of the CPP Section, is open to all members of the section. To participate in the monthly journal club sessions, simply subscribe to receive journal club announcements in the MySCCM iRoom and the web link for each session will be automatically forwarded as it is posted. You can also view recordings of previous sessions in the journal club folder.

Literature Updates
This program, maintained by the Research Committee of the CPP Section, is open to all members of the section. Retrieve monthly literature reviews through the MySCCM iRoom in the literature review folder.

Getting Involved
The CPP Section has numerous committees that are active in supporting the programs and vision of the Society. Members who are looking to become involved with the section are encouraged to view the committee charges and sign up for the committee of their choice. This can be done by either contacting the appropriate committee chair or the CPP Section Chair.
