Program Overview
This third webcast in a series addressing the ICU workforce will focus on clarifying the evolving definition of the ICU team. Options for maximizing the ICU team include use of nurse practitioners and physician assistants and the use of hospitalists to meet the needs of acute and critically ill patients. This webcast will feature experts who have integrated advanced practice providers and hospitalists to maximize ICU team capacity.

This webcast consists of PowerPoint discussions followed by a participant question and answer session.
Identification of Participant Learning Gaps
Participants of workforce sessions held during the 2011 Congress indicated an increased interest in ICU workforce issues. Current regulatory changes and healthcare reform legislation will impact the ICU workforce and many administrators and clinicians are unaware of their specific implications.
