GENERAL

1. Can my spouse attend educational sessions?
Your spouse may attend educational sessions if he/she is registered as Physician, Healthcare Professional or Student. Spouses/guests (over 18 years of age) who simply want to participate in SCCM activities can register using the Spouse/Guest Registration form. The cost is $25.00 and includes admission to the Exhibit Hall, the ability to purchase tickets for SCCM tours, plus an SCCM gift. Spouse/Guest registration, however, does not include admission to any educational sessions.

2. Is lunch included on Friday and Saturday?
A boxed lunch is included in all full day courses on Friday and Saturday. You may pick up your boxed lunch in Hall A3 (level 3) of the George R. Brown Convention Center. Please have your badge band available when picking up your lunch. If you are enrolled in a half day course, food outlets in and around the convention center will offer food options for purchase.

3. Do I need to be registered to walk through the Exhibit Hall?
You must be registered to walk through the Exhibit Hall. You may purchase a full Congress registration or daily registration. With daily registration, you may attend educational sessions, access the Exhibit Hall and register for ticketed events only on the day for which your registration was purchased.

4. What are the dates for future Critical Care Congress meetings?
January 19 - 23, 2013 Puerto Rico Convention Center - San Juan, Puerto Rico
January 9 - 13, 2014 Moscone Center - San Francisco, California
January 24 - 28, 2015 San Antonio Convention Center - San Antonio, Texas

REGISTRATION

5. How can I register for this year's Critical Care Congress?
After January 14, 2012 registration will only be available on-site.
The SCCM Registration Desk is located on Level 3 of the George R. Brown Convention Center. Everyone attending the conference must be registered, including officials, spouses, speakers, guests and exhibitors.

Hours for the Congress Registration Desk are as follows:
Thursday, February 2 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday, February 3 6:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 4 6:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 5 6:45 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Monday, February 6 6:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, February 7 7:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, February 8 7:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

6. How do I know if I'm registered?
If you registered on or before January 14 you will receive an email confirmation (once registration is processed), or mail confirmation if no email address is provided. This confirmation/receipt verifies your address information, the event(s) you have signed up for, and how much you have paid. If you have any questions please contact the SCCM customer service department at registration@sccm.org or +1 847 827-6888

7. What if I sign up for an event that is already full?
Attendees that register for an event that has reached maximum capacity will be issued a refund.

8. When will I receive my badge in the mail?
Badges will not be mailed. All badges will be available for pickup onsite at the SCCM Registration Desk located on Level 3 of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

9. Where can I pick up my badge onsite?
All badges will be available for pickup onsite at the SCCM Registration Desk located on Level 3 of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

10. Do I need to be registered for Congress in order to attend the Pre-Courses on Friday and Saturday?
You do not need to be registered for Congress to attend these courses. If you are not registered for Congress, a $50 charge per course will be applied to your registration fee.

11. How do I cancel my hotel reservation if I need to?
After January 18, 2012 please call the hotels directly.

Please call the hotel's group reservations department to make changes, cancels, or new reservations (based on availability). Identify yourself as a participant in the Society of Critical Care Medicine's Critical Care Congress. Reservations made after Monday, January 2, 2012 may not receive discounted SCCM rates.

13. Are all of the meeting rooms and exhibit halls at the George R. Brown Convention Center handicap accessible? All lower level lobbies (A-E) in the George R. Brown Convention Center are accessible and elevators are available in all lobbies for access to levels two and three. Access to the Hilton Hotel is available via the sky bridges on levels two and three.

14. Which is the best airport to fly into?
It depends on your preference. Here is some general information to help you decide.

Note: Smartphone check-in is not available at this facility.

Complimentary daily shuttle service between the hotel and the George R. Brown Convention Center will be provided.
A transportation schedule will be posted in the hotel lobby.

17. Where can I get a rental car in Houston?

EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS / EXHIBITS / POSTERS

19. I am taking an FDM, FCCS, or PFCCS Course at the MD Anderson Life Support Training Center, will transportation be provided? Yes. Shuttle buses will depart promptly at 7:00 a.m. from outside Hall C at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Return buses will depart MD Anderson at 5:00 p.m. and drop off at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

20. I am displaying a poster at Congress - where do I check-in and when can I set up?
A poster check-in desk will be available on Level 2 of the George R. Brown Convention Center
Poster set up takes place as follows:
Saturday, February 4, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 5, 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Posters may be retrieved on Tuesday, February 7 from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 pm.

21. Where can I find the exhibits, posters and SCCM Central?
All activities will take place on Level 3 of the George R. Brown Convention Center

22. How can I find information on programs, meetings and sessions?
Preliminary descriptions of programs are available in the Advance Program. You can also download the Congress mobile app to your iphone, ipad, Android and Blackberry through www.sccm.org/ccc41app. A Program Guide will also be available on-site at the SCCM Registration Desk, located on Level 3 of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

SPEAKERS / VOLUNTEERS

25. I am speaking at this year's Critical Care Congress. How do I submit my presentation?
Online slide submission is open until January 10, 2012. On-site, please check in at the Speaker Ready Room 340 of the George R. Brown Convention Center. Slides should be brought in at least 2 hours prior to your talk on a flash drive or CD, to ensure they function properly on the computer.

26. I am volunteering at this year's Critical Care Congress where do I check-in? Volunteers should plan to meet in Room 215 of the George R. Brown Convention Center.
